Just so you know, the PC term is “server”. “Waitress” is considered outdated, much like “stewardess”. Apparently Mona doesn’t mind it, if inner monologue is any indication, and hopefully no one roasts me alive for the usage of it in a narrative, either. I promise you that my years in restaurants taught me better!
Waitress is outdated? Right… people these days. I’ve wanted to be a waitress since I was like 12.. eheheh.
I’m still loving the coloring and glowy drink.. I think you’re the only comic artist I’ve ever heard of that actually likes crowd scenes. Haha :’D
Well, the GOOD news is, it’s pretty simple to get a job in food service, so maybe someday you will get your wish! 😀 Also, I would say crowd scenes and I have a love/hate thing going on, but I do script for ’em a lot, haha. I must like something about them to write as many as I do! Thank you, I hope you are enjoying the comic so far!
o.o Blue Moon? 🙁 Poor Mona. Food service is never fun. Not really.
Oh wow, good call on the Blue Moon! I have to agree that the actual food serving part of food service can be an exercise in patience sometimes, haha.
Still loving the atmospheric coloring, it really gives a sense of being in a place.
Um, what is wrong with those customers? They did not eat the orange slice garnish on their drink. You ALWAYS eat the garnish. It’s the best part, that’s why they stick on the side there.
LOL, the garnish is the ONLY thing I’ll personally consume off of a glass of beer, so I am likewise perplexed… but I see lots of people cast aside the fruity goodness of their alcoholic beverages. The fools!
I love their expression on first pannel. And Mona is so cute 🙂
Thank you very much!
Well done! It’s a gorgeous comic so far.
Thank you! I’m definitely trying my best, haha.
I’m really looking forward to reading more of this! I’ve been following you since O31, your Sims 2 edits and Sylvan Hollow RP fun times, so it’s great to have some more awesome stuff of yours to look at!
Aw, well thank you, I’m really glad to still have you following my stuff. That’s really cool!
I’m loving this so far and I really enjoy your backgrounds, so much atmosphere!
I personally find it very difficult to draw crowds, I also make the space between people are bit too wide I guess I’m just scared of drawing them any closer HAHA. But I have to say you really skills!
Do you do a lot of life drawing of crowds in general?
Thank you, that’s very kind to say!
I wouldn’t say that I’m any kind of authority on drawing crowds or anything, I just kind of go with what would be compositionally sound, if that makes sense to say. I wouldn’t want the packed ale house to feel empty! I don’t do a lot of crowd life drawing, but I do try to pay attention in crowded places to get an idea for where people congregate and how the groupings should work. (Don’t know if I always stick to it 100%, though.)
